Scholarships and Grants
|
Established in 1990, the Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum Founding Members Scholarship Program awarded its first $1,000 scholarship in May, 1991. To date, over $255,000 has been awarded to deserving young women in the five school districts of Conroe, Cypress-Fairbanks, Klein, Spring and Tomball. The scholarships are based on three criteria: community service, academics, and financial need. Scholarship applications are available in the school counselor offices during November and December, and completed applications are due by mid January. Each applicant is interviewed by a panel of CWJF members prior to presentation of the scholarship award. Scholarship Recipients receive their scholarships in April at a special reception honoring their achievements.
Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum (CWJF) first awarded grant monies in 1992. Since that date, over $300,000 has been awarded to area non-profit agencies.
